Princess Eugenie has maintained her royal duties this week by supporting King Charles' charitable foundation, even as controversy continues to surround her father, Prince Andrew.
Mentoring the Next Generation
The Princess participated in a mentoring session in London on Tuesday, representing The King's Foundation in her capacity as a mentor for their 35 under 35 network. This initiative brings together young leaders in sustainability, traditional crafts, and the arts.
During the event, Eugenie delivered the introductory address and shared how her personal passion for art has influenced her professional path. In remarks released by the foundation, she expressed her enthusiasm for working with the group of young creatives.
"It was fantastic to spend more time with the 35 under 35, who are such an incredible group of talented young people," the Princess stated. "I have enjoyed getting to know them better and hearing about their work and aspirations, and look forward to supporting their journeys into the future."
Gallery Faces Legal Scrutiny
The mentoring session occurred just one day before Hauser & Wirth, the prestigious art gallery where Princess Eugenie serves as a director, faced allegations in court.
On Wednesday, Westminster Magistrates' Court heard claims that the gallery breached Russian sanctions by making "luxury goods" available to someone connected with Russia between April and December 2022. The specific item in question was a work titled "Escape from Humanity" by artist George Condo.
It's important to note that there is no suggestion Princess Eugenie was involved in the alleged supply of the painting. The case has been scheduled for a hearing at Southwark Crown Court on December 16.
Ongoing Royal Challenges
Meanwhile, newly released documents have kept the focus on Princess Eugenie's father, Prince Andrew. An email from Jeffrey Epstein appears to confirm the authenticity of a photograph showing the former prince with his sex accuser, Virginia Giuffre.
Additional documents reveal that Andrew told both Epstein and convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell "I can't take any more of this" as he sought to distance himself from allegations against them.
The King's Foundation, which celebrates its 35th anniversary this year, continues its work promoting King Charles' vision for global change through its various initiatives, including the 35 under 35 programme that Princess Eugenie supports.
