Andrew fears he is 'most at risk royal', wants taxpayer security

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is worried he is not receiving adequate security following an alleged altercation near his home in Sandringham. The disgraced former prince fears he is 'more at risk' than other royals, having lost his taxpayer-funded protection when his titles were stripped.

Andrew's Security Concerns

Andrew believes there are 'fixated individuals' targeting him, with his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein and revelations about his tenure as UK trade envoy among factors making him a greater target, according to The Telegraph. He now seeks taxpayer-funded protection after a recent incident near his Norfolk home.

Incident Details

Alex Jenkinson, 39, is charged with threatening Andrew near his residence at Marsh Farm on the Sandringham Estate. Jenkinson was given an interim stalking prevention order on Thursday and is scheduled for trial on July 29. He faces up to five years in jail if he violates conditions on his movements.

A source indicated that while Andrew was 'reassured' by the hearing's outcome, the incident shows royals cannot be 'uninvented'. The former duke, though no longer a working royal, faces the same security risks as active members. Andrew has sought enhanced security 'for years', but taxpayer funding is unlikely given his damaged reputation.

Legal Proceedings

Officers arrested Jenkinson after he allegedly wore a black balaclava and camouflage clothing while chasing Andrew. He reportedly had a 'palm-sized' rock in his pocket and a wooden-handled axe in his car. Court records show his phone browser history included searches about the Princess of Wales and her children, Charlotte and Louis, as well as weapons and killing methods.

Last year, the Duke of Sussex lost a legal battle against the Home Office over his own security arrangements. He argued he deserved police protection due to his birth status and is awaiting a decision from the Royal and VIP Executive Committee after a risk assessment.
