Playland Fun Park in Worcestershire has been named the UK's most affordable theme park for the third consecutive year, according to a study by Outdoor Toys. The family-run park in Stourport-on-Severn offers free admission and pay-per-ride attractions starting from as little as £1, allowing a family of four to save at least £100 compared to larger competitors.
How Playland Keeps Costs Down
Unlike many theme parks that charge hefty entry fees, Playland operates on a no-admission-charge model, letting visitors pay only for the rides they choose. This approach has proven popular, with the park consistently ranking as the most budget-friendly option for families. The study highlighted that the average child ticket price at other parks can exceed £20, whereas Playland's child ticket price is effectively £0.
The park offers a variety of classic amusements, including go-karts, crazy golf, and bumper boats, as well as rides specifically designed for younger children, such as a pirate ship and a safari train. Recent additions include Dino Tours, where visitors drive their own explorer through a dinosaur-themed track, and a farmyard area with ride-on animals.

For those looking to cool off, self-drive boats and a large paddling pool are available, while trampolines, bouncy castles, and a skate park provide plenty of opportunities for children to burn off energy. The Outdoor Toys study also named Paulton's Theme Park in Hampshire as the best all-round option for kids, citing its 38 rides, numerous food outlets, and an impressive 71% 'excellent' rating on Tripadvisor. Despite having the highest child admission price in the ranking at £46.75, the park attracts significant interest, generating more than 1.7 million Google searches annually, according to the retailer.
Drayton Manor in Staffordshire and Blackpool Pleasure Beach came in joint second, with Alton Towers in third place. Woodlands Family Theme Park in Devon won for having the most rides, with 50 in total, while Thorpe Park in Surrey was commended for its 19 food outlets.
