Natalie Harp, a devoted aide to Donald Trump, flooded a since-disabled social media account with more than 150 pro-Trump posts on the day of the January 6 Capitol attack in 2021, according to a CNN report published Saturday. The account, on what is now known as X, was active years before Harp joined Trump's staff and developed an unusually close relationship with him.
Posts on January 6: 'FIGHT FOR TRUMP!' and 'never concede'
CNN reported that the deactivated account, opened by Harp in 2016, contained numerous posts repeating Trump's false claims that the 2020 election, which he lost to Joe Biden, was stolen. In one instance, Harp wrote 'FIGHT FOR TRUMP!' 12 times. She also posted 'Today, DC is TRUMP COUNTRY!' and 'today we STOP THE STEAL!'. As Trump delivered a speech that day, Harp wrote: 'We will never give up. We will never concede!'
The report comes amid intense scrutiny of Harp, 35, who is frequently seen at the side of Trump, 80, during his second presidency. The attention has been fueled by affectionate letters, claims from her estranged brother, and a Senate speech by Democrat Jon Ossoff of Georgia, who suggested Trump wants to 'travel with Natalie'.
Comparing Trump to the Good Samaritan
The account also included posts where Harp compared Trump to a biblical figure, according to messages uncovered by the Daily Beast. In a 2019 message, she wrote: 'We all know the story of the Good Samaritan. But what you don't know is I was that forgotten person on the side of the road – left to die of medical error and cancer. The Political Establishment passed me by. But @realDonaldTrump didn't. Meet my Good Samaritan!'
The X account now appears to be suspended. It is unclear when it was taken down or whether Harp or the platform removed the posts. Harp's official roles are special assistant to the president and executive assistant to the president, positions with an annual salary of $150,000. Inside Trump's orbit, she has earned the unofficial title of 'human printer' for supplying him with printed information.
Early embrace of election fraud narrative
CNN's report also indicated that Harp's embrace of Trump's election-fraud narrative began before the Capitol insurrection. In the weeks leading up to the attack, she told followers: 'We will never give up – for TRUTH is on our side. January 6th is coming!!' Days after the election, she wrote 'WE LOVE YOU! WE LOVE YOU! WE LOVE YOU!' and on December 14, 2020, she posted 'THIS IS A COUP.'
The resurfaced posts are not the only written materials fueling scrutiny. The Daily Beast published two intimate letters from 2023 on Thursday, in which Harp called Trump her 'Guardian and Protector' and wrote 'You are all that matters to me' and 'I want to bring you joy, to feel like we can get through a day without ever having to talk 'work.''
