Teen dies, another injured in Norfolk lorry-car crash

A teenage driver has died and his male passenger is in hospital with serious injuries after a collision between a car and a lorry on the A134 in Norfolk. The incident occurred on Monday at approximately 9:55 AM on Lynn Road between Stradsett and Shouldham Thorpe.

Details of the Collision

The driver, a boy in his teens, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, also a teenager, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The lorry driver, a man, sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

The road was closed while emergency services attended the scene and reopened at around 4:15 PM, roughly six hours after the crash.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Norfolk Police have issued an appeal for witnesses. In a statement, they said: 'Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision near Stradsett. The collision happened at around 9.55am yesterday, on the A134 Lynn Road between Stradsett and Shouldham Thorpe, when a silver Citroen C3 and a Mercedes-Benz lorry collided.'

The statement continued: 'The driver of the Citroen, a man in his teens, sadly died at the scene. Another man in his teens who was a passenger in the Citroen was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the lorry suffered minor injuries and attended hospital as a precaution.'

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or the manner of driving prior to it, or who has relevant dashcam footage, to contact them quoting reference 36/49264/26.
