Sharon Osbourne, 73, was forced to miss a 'stunning tribute' to her late husband Ozzy after being hospitalized. The 73-year-old was scheduled to attend the unveiling of an Ozzy Osbourne statue at the French metal festival Hellfest. However, on the day of the event, she was absent for undisclosed reasons.
Sharon later explained her absence on Instagram. 'I'm sorry I couldn't be at Hellfest for the unveiling of Ozzy's statue,' she wrote. 'Unfortunately, I had an unexpected trip to the hospital earlier in the week.' She extended thanks to Olivier Garnier, Ben Barbaud, and everyone at Hellfest, with a special acknowledgment to Philippe Pasqua for the 'absolutely stunning statue.'
Ozzy Osbourne's Death and Legacy
Ozzy passed away on July 22 last year at his home in Buckinghamshire due to a heart attack. The Black Sabbath frontman had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2005 but only publicly revealed it in January 2020. His death prompted an outpouring of grief from friends and fans.
Sir Elton John wrote on Instagram: 'So sad to hear the news of Ozzy Osbourne passing away. He was a dear friend and a huge trailblazer who secured his place in the pantheon of rock gods – a true legend. He was also one of the funniest people I've ever met. I will miss him dearly. To Sharon and the family, I send my condolences and love.'
Yungblud, Ozzy's unofficial protégé, expressed being 'truly heartbroken' in a heartfelt message. 'I didn't think you would leave so soon. The last time we met, you were so full of life, and your laugh filled up the room,' he wrote.
Sharon's Controversy
Since Ozzy's death, Sharon has become a controversial figure after expressing support for a rally organized by Tommy Robinson. She commented on a post about a planned rally, 'See you at the march.' After the comment went viral, the homelessness charity Centrepoint dropped Sharon as an ambassador, stating it had 'no plans' to work with her again.
