Four people have been killed and five others taken to hospital following a devastating early-morning collision in Bolton. Greater Manchester Police are urgently appealing for witnesses to the serious incident, which occurred just before 1am.
Details of the Fatal Collision
The crash happened at around 12.45 am on Saturday, January 11, 2026, on Wigan Road. A red Seat Leon and a Citroen Picasso were involved in a serious collision. Tragically, the driver of the Seat and two passengers died at the scene. The driver of the Citroen was also pronounced dead following the impact.
Five other individuals were injured and transported to hospital for treatment. Their current conditions have not been disclosed by authorities.

Emergency services, including three fire engines and a technical response unit from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, were called to the scene at approximately 12.50 am. Police, fire, and ambulance crews worked through the night.
