Wildlife photographer Charvet Drucker found herself at the centre of an unexpected wildlife spectacle while on a whale watching expedition near her home in the Salish Sea. The location was approximately 40 miles northwest of Seattle, where Drucker had rented a 20-foot (6-meter) boat to observe marine life.
What began as a routine observation turned extraordinary when Drucker spotted at least eight killer whales, commonly known as orcas, hunting in formation. Through her camera's zoom lens, she identified their target - a single harbour seal fighting for its life in the open water.
