A quiet neighbourhood in Quebec, Canada, became the scene of an extraordinary wildlife encounter when a lion escaped from a private property and crossed paths with a local canine resident.
The unlikely confrontation involved Mouse, a gentle Newfoundland dog known for his massive size and friendly nature, who found himself face-to-face with one of nature's most formidable predators during what should have been a routine evening in his backyard.
The Unwanted Makeover
According to local authorities, the escaped lion managed to get close enough to Mouse to leave several significant claw marks along the dog's back and sides. The injuries, while dramatic-looking, were described as superficial - essentially giving the large dog an unexpected and rather drastic haircut.
