Pokémon Pokopia Garden Launches at Acton Mount in London
A brand-new, free immersive garden themed around Pokémon has officially opened in London, offering visitors a unique real-world experience inspired by the popular franchise. The Pokémon Company International has transformed Acton Mount into the Pokopia Garden, coinciding with the launch of the new game Pokémon Pokopia. This innovative installation aims to bring the virtual world of Pokémon to life in public spaces, encouraging community engagement and outdoor enjoyment.
Experience Details and Features
The Pokopia Garden is open to the public from March 31 to September 30, with continuous access throughout this period. Located at The Mount in Acton, London W3 9NW, the nearest station is Acton Town, making it easily accessible for locals and tourists alike. Admission is completely free, providing an affordable family-friendly attraction.
The garden features a variety of immersive elements designed to captivate Pokémon fans. These include living walls that mimic the lush environments of the game, curated terrariums inspired by Pokémon creatures, and hidden details scattered throughout the space for visitors to discover. The design is directly influenced by the unique art style of Pokémon Pokopia, creating a cohesive and visually stunning experience.
Collaboration and Community Impact
This project was developed in collaboration with local businesses and organizations, highlighting a commitment to supporting the community. By bringing Pokémon into the real world, the initiative seeks to foster a sense of growth and brightness in urban areas. Peter Murphy, Senior Director of Marketing at The Pokémon Company International, explained the vision behind the garden.
"In Pokémon Pokopia, players create a Pokémon paradise which everyone can live in. We wanted to bring some of that same feeling of growth and brightness to real-world communities, creating a space that is full of Pokémon Pokopia’s magic and open to all," Murphy stated.
Benefits for Pokémon GO Players
In addition to the garden's physical attractions, trainers playing Pokémon GO will find special perks at the location. For the duration of the event, new Pokéstops and Gyms have been added to the game at Pokopia Gardens, enhancing the gameplay experience for mobile users. This integration bridges the gap between digital and physical entertainment, offering added value for avid players.
The Pokopia Garden represents a creative approach to public space utilization, blending entertainment with outdoor activity. It encourages people to step outside, explore their surroundings, and participate in the fun of Pokémon in a new and engaging way. Whether you're a longtime fan or simply looking for a free day out in London, this immersive garden promises a memorable experience until its closure in late September.
