EastEnders spoilers: Denise reveals cancer, Libby returns, Ian fears trial
EastEnders spoilers: Denise's cancer battle and Ian's legal woes

Denise Fox (Diane Parish) finally tells her family about her cancer diagnosis next week in EastEnders, and prepares to undergo treatment. With the weight of hiding her condition becoming too much to bear, she finally reveals her diagnosis, leading to the return of her youngest daughter, Libby (Belinda Owusu). As she heads away for treatment, though, could Libby’s quest to help sister Chelsea (Zaraah Abrahams) end in disaster when a link to a terrifying name emerges?

Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) continues to fear for his future after he unknowingly ran over Jordan Fox (Izaiah Hagan-Brown). Currently represented by Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff), Ian still doesn’t feel and turns to mum, Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) for help, but can she?

Elsewhere, a big proposal from Vinny Panesar (Shiv Jalota) puts Penny Branning (Kitty Castledine) in a difficult position with Gina Knight (Francesca Henry), while the ever-sinister Bea Pollard (Ronni Ancona) hasn’t given up on Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton), and sees another opportunity to strike.

While Denise continues to ignore calls from the hospital, Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) turns to Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) in desperation. As the Fox-Truemans rally around, looking for ways to support Chelsea and Jordan, the news of Kim Fox and Howie Danes (Tameka Empson and Delroy Hugh Atkinson) engagement gets out, and a celebration is called for later. Prior to the party, Phil attempts to get through to Denise, but despite his attempts to help, she kicks him out. Later at the Vic, she finally informs her family of her predicament. As she slowly recovers from her fall, Honey agrees to celebrate alongside Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) after Bea’s departure from their home, but tension is still running high between them. Elsewhere, Kathy tries her best to comfort Ian and Vinny feels side-lined at a birthing-plan appointment with Penny.

After finally revealing her secret, Denise heads home and finally calls the hospital, declaring that she’s ready to start treatment. Chelsea summons Libby home as the family struggle to digest what they’ve learned. Denise shares a tender heart to heart with Jack, who’s supported by Max Branning (Jake Wood), before finally beginning her treatment. As Libby arrives on the Square, she shares an emotional reunion with Chelsea, despite some lingering tension, and Chelsea admits that Gray’s nan, Sheila (Sheila Ruskin), has been sending her cheques to help support Jordan, though she’s yet to cash any.

Meanwhile, Vinny bares his soul to Penny about not feeling included and asks her to move in with him, determined to prove his commitment to her.

Ian sacks Johnny, concerned that his lack of focus on the case could mean that he ends up behind bars and begins to seek new legal representation for his upcoming trial. Chelsea is overwhelmed by looking after Jordan, while also struggling with financial instability, leading Libby to attempt to call Sheila for help, interrupted only by Jack who informs her that Denise wants to see them both at the hospital. Swearing to look after one another to their mum while also agreeing to be tested as potential bone marrow matches, Chelsea and Libby later clash over Sheila, until Chelsea calls a truce and contacts Sheila herself.

Also, while Vinny is raring to move in with Penny, she’s anxious about telling Gina that she’s moving out.

Thursday, June 18

Bea listens in to Billy recounting his date with Honey to Alfie Moon (Shane Richie), and spots an opportune moment to strike, offering to take Honey out for a drink. Although anxious, Chelsea meets Sheila with Libby by her side for support, and her nerves are alleviated when she reveals that she has no contact with Gray. When she offers financial help for Jordan, however, Chelsea first accepts before handing the money back, unable to ease her guilt.

Elsewhere, Penny and Gina continue to skirt around their plans to move, while Ian asks Kathy for money to retain a top-level solicitor.
