Louis Tomlinson Reveals He 'Always Hated' Performing One Direction's Biggest Hit
Louis Tomlinson Hated Performing One Direction Hit

Directioners across the UK are recovering from shocking revelations as Louis Tomlinson has confessed to hating performances of One Direction's most iconic track throughout his time with the band.

The Confession That Shocked Fans

During an interview with Capital FM ahead of his appearance at the Jingle Bell Ball, Tomlinson dropped the bombshell that he never enjoyed singing What Makes You Beautiful, the band's 2011 debut single that launched them to global superstardom.

I'm not sure there's a single time I performed One Direction's 'What Makes You Beautiful' and enjoyed it, the singer revealed candidly. That felt like a bit of a challenge. So, yeah.

The Lemonade singer was answering fan questions when he made the surprising admission about the track that defined One Direction's early career and became an anthem for millions of fans worldwide.

Jingle Bell Ball Preparations and Performances

Tomlinson's revelation came during promotional activities for Capital's Jingle Bell Ball with Barclaycard, where he's scheduled to perform on Sunday, December 7 at London's O2 Arena.

The event promises to be a spectacular festive celebration with an impressive lineup of artists. On Saturday, December 6, attendees can expect performances from Raye, Ed Sheeran, Rizzle Kicks, and former Little Mix star Leigh-Anne.

Tomlinson's performance day will see Kylie Minogue as headliner, with additional sets from Alex Warren, Tinie Tempah, and Jessie J. For fans who missed out on tickets, the entire show will be available to stream on Global Player and YouTube.

Tomlinson's Candid Reflections on One Direction Era

This isn't the first time Tomlinson has been openly honest about his experiences during the One Direction years. The singer has recently become increasingly transparent when discussing his time with the record-breaking boy band.

In a recent interview with The Independent, Tomlinson addressed his strong feelings toward internet personality Logan Paul, stating he would forever despise him following Paul's controversial podcast with Liam Payne in 2022.

I think that's also the problem with some of this new media, Tomlinson commented. I would like to think most journalists... some journalists have a duty of care.

The interview referenced saw Payne, who tragically passed away on October 16, 2024, making startling claims about his role in One Direction, describing himself as the de facto leader of the group while criticising former bandmate Zayn Malik.

Tomlinson has also teased that new solo music is on the way, keeping fans eagerly anticipating what the next chapter of his musical career will bring.
