Cosmic Light Show 'Space' Transforms St Martin-in-the-Fields This February
Cosmic Light Show 'Space' Comes to London Church

One of London's most historic churches is set for an otherworldly transformation this winter, as a breathtaking cosmic light show prepares to illuminate its ancient walls.

A Celestial Journey in a Historic Setting

From Tuesday 17 to Saturday 21 February 2026, the iconic St Martin-in-the-Fields on Trafalgar Square will host Space, a spellbinding immersive experience created by the acclaimed art collective Luxmuralis. Fresh from a sell-out tour across the UK, the show promises to blend vivid projections, bespoke soundscapes and colour-soaked illumination to guide visitors on a multi-sensory journey through the cosmos.

The event will see both the church's exterior and interior transformed into a glowing canvas. Over the course of 30 to 60 minutes, audiences will explore humanity's relationship with Earth and the wider universe, with scenes inspired by the creation story, the Big Bang, and our first ventures into space, all unfolding against centuries-old stonework.

Silent Disco Under the Stars

Adding a unique twist to the programme, Wednesday 18 February will feature a one-night-only Silent Disco inside the church crypt. Guests wearing wireless headphones will be able to choose between three DJ channels, dancing beneath a looping constellation of shifting stars for a completely different way to experience the space.

The experience begins in the church courtyard, where visitors can enjoy drinks from the Courtyard Café & Bar before stepping into the show. The finale offers a luminous, contemplative moment, seating attendees beneath a galaxy of stars to view Earth as if from orbit.

Art as the Stained-Glass of Our Time

Space is produced by Peter Walker, artist, sculptor and Artistic Director of Luxmuralis, whose work has been described as "the stained-glass windows of our time". By fusing contemporary digital technology with profound historic settings, the collective continues to reimagine how art can bring heritage spaces vividly to life for modern audiences.

This five-night event represents a major highlight in London's winter cultural calendar, offering a unique fusion of art, music, history and architecture that is not to be missed.
