Emmerdale Star Beth Cordingly's Sweet Message to Departed Co-Star
Beth Cordingly's Heartfelt Message to Emmerdale Co-Star

Beth Cordingly has melted fans' hearts after leaving a sweet message for former Emmerdale co-star Georgia Jay on Instagram. Georgia, who played Steph Miligan in the ITV soap, recently shared a behind-the-scenes snap with the caption: 'Just BTS things', but it was Beth's comment underneath that really got fans talking.

Beth, who plays Steph's on-screen mum Ruby Fox-Miligan, wrote: 'Sometimes when I see a picture of you – for a minute – I think it's an old pic of a younger me! Lucky me!!!!!!' Fans also agreed in the replies, with many once again pointing out just how alike the pair look. One fan replied directly to Beth's comment and wrote: 'You were a perfect match for playing Mother and Daughter in Emmerdale. #twins, miss seeing you both together!'

Uncanny Resemblance

Ever since Georgia arrived in the village as Steph, viewers couldn't get over the similarities between the actresses. From their facial features and expressions to the way they carried themselves on screen, fans were constantly praising casting bosses for absolutely nailing the mother-daughter pairing. Their chemistry on-screen quickly became a huge part of why viewers loved the complicated relationship between Ruby and Steph so much.

While the pair had their fair share of explosive arguments and emotional confrontations, there were also plenty of softer moments that showed how much the characters cared about each other underneath all the chaos. Steph arrived in the Dales as the daughter of Ruby and Caleb Miligan, played by William Ash, and it didn't take long for the family drama to ramp up. The Miligans became one of the soap's most talked-about families as secrets, betrayals and emotional bombshells unfolded.

Off-Screen Friendship

A lot of the show's biggest emotional scenes centred around Ruby and Steph's relationship, with both Beth and Georgia praised by fans for making the dynamic feel believable and raw. Off-screen, though, things seem a lot happier between the actresses. Over the months, fans have loved seeing little glimpses of their friendship on social media, with supportive comments, behind-the-scenes moments and fun interactions showing there's clearly a genuine bond there away from the cameras too.

Georgia departed the ITV soap in August of last year as she went on maternity leave, but in November, the actress revealed she would not be returning to the Dales as she had decided to focus on motherhood. Beth's latest comment only added to that, with fans loving how affectionate and playful her message was.

Standout Performances

Beth has become hugely popular with viewers since joining Emmerdale as Ruby. The character has brought drama, chaos, humour and heartbreak in equal measure, quickly becoming one of the soap's standout personalities. Away from the Dales, Beth has had a long TV career, with previous roles in shows including The Bill and Family Affairs, as well as lots of theatre work. Georgia, meanwhile, made a big impression during her time as Steph, despite only being in the soap for a relatively short period. Fans quickly connected with the character, and many were sad to see her leave the village.

With fans still calling them 'twins' online, it's safe to say viewers won't forget the iconic mother-daughter duo anytime soon.
