Woman Arrested for Allegedly Stalking Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham

Authorities in Fort Wayne, Indiana, have arrested a woman accused of stalking former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham. Michelle Dick, 55, was taken into custody on Saturday on a warrant from California related to stalking charges.

Alleged Incidents and Harassment

Dick is accused of dousing Buckingham, 76, with an unknown substance in March as he entered a building in Santa Monica for an appointment. Police reported that she also damaged his vehicle during the incident before fleeing the scene. Fortunately, Buckingham was not physically injured.

According to a statement from the Fort Wayne Police Department, Dick had been stalking Buckingham and his family for several years. In 2024, Buckingham obtained a restraining order against her following years of harassment. The order required Dick to stay at least 100 yards away from Buckingham, his wife, and his son, and barred her from contacting them.

Legal Charges and Extradition

After the alleged March encounter, authorities believe Dick fled California and traveled more than 2,000 miles to Fort Wayne, where she was arrested without incident. She is currently being held in the Allen County Jail pending extradition to California.

Court records show that Dick faces multiple charges, including stalking, vandalism, battery, and criminal threats. She is expected to appear in court in the coming days for extradition proceedings.

Background of the Stalking Case

Buckingham has claimed that the stalking began in late 2021 with dozens of phone calls and "long, drawn-out messages" in which Dick allegedly claimed "she was my child" and made threats to kill him and his family. He also alleged that Dick was responsible for "swatting" his home, leading to him being briefly detained while officers searched his property.

In his restraining order petition, Buckingham expressed fear that Dick's conduct could escalate into something physically dangerous for him and his family. Dick was known to Buckingham and his family from previous encounters, according to reports.
