Rosslyn, a small chain of independent coffee shops with nine outlets in the City of London, has been named the top English coffee shop in Europe's 100 Best Coffee Shops ranking. The chain secured 12th place overall in Europe, with the top spot going to Tim Wendelboe in Oslo, Norway.
Recognition and Qualifying for World Ranking
James Hennebry, Co-Founder and CEO of Rosslyn, said: 'To be counted among the best coffee shops in Europe is a huge deal. The City of London has one of the richest coffee histories in the world, dating back to the 1600s, and we’ve always wanted to do our bit for the Square Mile and help London become the number one city for coffee in the world again.' The ranking qualifies Rosslyn for next year's World's 100 Best Coffee Shops, to be announced in March 2027.
Locations and Founding
Rosslyn has outlets on Fenchurch Street, London Wall, the Royal Exchange, and Cannon Street. It was founded in 2018 on Queen Victoria Street. The chain also appears in Time Out's ranking of the best coffee shops in London.
Time Out's Review
Time Out described Rosslyn as offering 'a friendly face in the often soulless financial district,' noting that the founders are from Australia and Ireland, and their hospitality reflects both nations. The review added: 'Specialty coffee with charm is their thing. If you’re craving a cortado before your high-powered business conflab, Rosslyn is the place to go.'
