Rebecca Loos has declared she feels "validated" following Brooklyn Beckham's scathing public statement about his parents, more than two decades after she first alleged an affair with football icon David Beckham. The former personal assistant turned yoga instructor has broken her silence in a new documentary, offering her perspective on the ongoing family drama.
Historic Allegations Resurface
In 2004, Loos claimed she had an intimate relationship with David Beckham shortly after his high-profile move to Real Madrid, while she worked as his personal assistant in Spain. At the time, the former England captain vehemently denied these allegations, dismissing them as "ludicrous" and maintaining his commitment to his marriage with Victoria Beckham.
Now, over twenty years later, Loos has re-entered the public conversation through a Channel 5 documentary titled The Beckham Feud: Truth and Lies. The programme investigates the fallout between Brooklyn Beckham and his parents, following his explosive 800-word statement that accused them of being "controlling" and prioritising "Brand Beckham" above genuine family relationships.
Loos Reacts to Brooklyn's Accusations
Shortly after Brooklyn released his statement, Loos took to social media to express her support, writing: "So happy he is standing up for himself and speaking publicly finally!!!! I have felt so bad for his poor wife, knowing too well what they can be like! The truth always comes out ❤️".
In preview clips from the documentary, Loos elaborates on her feelings, stating: "Suddenly you are part of a big PR war. In a very small way this is of course validation for what I said, and came forward and said, 22 years ago. Brooklyn is basically confirming inauthentic relationships, the value of promotion and endorsements above all else, and that it's all focus on Brand Beckham and that's all that matters."
Wedding Dance Controversy Addressed
Loos also commented on one of the most personal allegations in Brooklyn's statement: that his mother Victoria danced "inappropriately" with him during his 2022 wedding to Nicola Peltz, hijacking their planned first dance. Brooklyn described feeling "humiliated" by the incident, which he said demonstrated a pattern of disrespect toward his wife.
Reflecting on this, Loos suggested: "Whether it came from her or whether it was Marc Anthony is beside the point because it shows a lack of awareness for other people's feelings. I think any other mother would've read the room and understood this is awkward." She proposed that a more considerate response would have been to redirect attention to the bride.
Brooklyn's Detailed Allegations
In his lengthy statement, Brooklyn Beckham made several serious accusations against his parents:
- Claiming they had tried "endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding"
- Describing how his mother interrupted his first dance with his wife at their wedding
- Alleging that "Brand Beckham comes first" and family love is measured by social media participation
- Stating that he has found "peace and relief" since cutting off contact with his family
He emphasised that his family "values public promotion and endorsements above all else," creating pressure to maintain a "perfect family" image regardless of personal cost.
Loos's Continued Public Presence
Since the original scandal broke, Rebecca Loos has maintained a public profile, appearing on various reality television programmes including Celebrity Love Island and Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. She is now married to Norwegian doctor Sven Christjar Skaiaa, with whom she shares two sons.
In a previous interview with 60 Minutes Australia, Loos defended her decision to speak out originally, explaining: "Why? Because I'm going up against the strongest, most powerful couple in the media who have all the money in the world for the best PR, the best lawyers. And all I had on my side was the truth."
Documentary Release Details
The Beckham Feud: Truth and Lies, produced by ITN Productions, is scheduled to air on Channel 5 on Sunday February 1 at 9pm. The documentary promises to delve deeper into the accusations and counter-accusations that have fractured one of Britain's most famous families.
David Beckham has consistently denied Loos's allegations throughout the years, previously stating: "During the past few months, I have become accustomed to reading more and more ludicrous stories about my private life. The simple truth is that I am very happily married. I have a wonderful wife and two very special kids. There is nothing any third party can do to change these facts."
