Nicole Kidman Opens Up on Divorce: 'I'm Hanging In There'
Nicole Kidman speaks out following Keith Urban divorce

Acclaimed actress Nicole Kidman has broken her silence on the emotional fallout from her divorce from country music star Keith Urban, offering a heartfelt update to her fans.

An Emotional Update

The 58-year-old Oscar winner revealed she is 'hanging in there' during a candid conversation with pop star Ariana Grande for Interview Magazine. This marks one of her first public comments addressing the personal turmoil following the end of her 19-year marriage.

The couple's separation was officially announced to the public in September 2025, with sources indicating they had been living apart since the beginning of the summer. Their divorce papers were filed the following month, in October.

Finding Solace in Sisterhood

Kidman shared that she has found a crucial support system while working on the highly anticipated sequel to Practical Magic. She told Grande that the female-led cast provided a safe and loving environment during a difficult time.

'Sandra Bullock and I, and then Joey King and Maisie [Williams]—we had an incredible cast,' Kidman explained. When Grande suggested that filming can often be 'emotionally draining,' Kidman agreed but emphasised the unique bond on this project.

'I have such a strong relationship with all those women, so I felt protected and loved. It was just very, very safe,' she confessed. The actress also expressed amazement that she and Bullock were able to get the sequel produced at a major studio like Warner Bros. so many years after the original.

Navigating Public Scrutiny

According to a source who spoke to People magazine in October, Kidman had been apprehensive about the public's reaction to the divorce news. 'She's been stressed because she knew the separation would eventually become public and she was dreading it,' the insider revealed.

However, the source added that the actress has remained 'surprisingly level-headed and calm' and is now focused on her future and her two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.

Kidman and Urban tied the knot in June 2006. She has since made her first solo public appearance at the amfAR Gala in Dallas a month ago, where she presented an award to Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan. The star maintained a composed demeanour at the event, dressed in an elegant black gown.
