Emmerdale Star Isabel Hodgins Announces Birth of First Child
Emmerdale actress Isabel Hodgins has joyfully announced the arrival of her first baby, sharing heartwarming pictures and videos on social media. The star, best known for her long-running role as Victoria Sugden on the popular ITV soap opera, posted an adorable reel on Instagram confirming the birth of her daughter, Georgie Grace.
Adorable Announcement and Celebratory Messages
The announcement video begins with Hodgins in a hospital room using a birthing ball, before revealing that Georgie Grace was born on February 11 at 1:02am. The actress also shared a beautiful black and white polaroid photograph of herself tenderly cradling her newborn daughter.
Fellow Emmerdale cast members quickly flooded the comments section with congratulatory messages. Lisa Riley, who portrays Mandy Dingle on the show, wrote: 'Congratulations what amazing news. Love to you all. Love and hugs.'
Aaron Dingle actor Danny Miller added: 'Congratulations you three!! So happy for you all,' while Bradley Riches, who plays Lewis Barton, commented: 'Love you! Xxxx.'
Pregnancy Revelation and Family Background
The 32-year-old actress, who is married to Adam Whitehead, 28, first confirmed her pregnancy in August of last year. In an interview with OK! Magazine at the time, Hodgins humorously recounted how her husband was actually the one to discover she was expecting.
'Isabel was late by a few days, so she did a test. But then, she just threw it on the floor, and it was upside down just lying there,' Whitehead explained. 'I didn't want to look at it, as I felt it would make time go slower to stare. But Mr Impatient comes along to look at it and sees that it's positive,' Hodgins joked.
The couple initially doubted the result because the test had been upside down, prompting them to rush to Boots to purchase three more tests, all of which confirmed the pregnancy.
Victoria Sugden's Departure from Emmerdale
Hodgins' final scenes as Victoria Sugden aired recently on Emmerdale. The character, whom Hodgins has portrayed since 2006, made the difficult decision to leave the village for a new life in Portugal with her son Harry and Diane Sugden.
The dramatic storyline saw Victoria forced to depart after killing her brother John Sugden (played by Oliver Farnworth) earlier in 2026. Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) obtained video evidence of her covering up the death and used it to blackmail Victoria and Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley), demanding the Sugden farmland in exchange for his silence.
After attempting to find alternatives, Victoria ultimately accepted defeat, concluding that the village held too many painful memories. She shared an emotional farewell with Robert but promised to return someday.
The birth of Georgie Grace marks a new chapter for Hodgins, who has balanced her professional commitments on one of Britain's most beloved soap operas with her personal journey into motherhood.
