KFC and French wine brand La Vieille Ferme are opening a pop-up wine bar in Shoreditch, London, from August 28 to August 31, 2026, pairing fried chicken with the brand's 'chicken wine' in a collaboration dubbed Coq au Vin.
The event, held at Kachette Annex on Kingsland Road, will feature a menu that combines KFC's signature items—such as Popcorn Chicken, Hot Wings, and Original Recipe Tenders—with a selection of La Vieille Ferme wines, including Sparkling Rosé, Rouge, Rosé, and Blanc. KFC claims the menu will 'challenge everything you thought you knew about wine pairings,' offering unconventional combinations like tenders with rosé and hot wings with red.
Viral wine brand and KFC's market dominance
La Vieille Ferme, known for its rooster logo, has become a viral sensation, selling 14 million bottles of rosé in the UK last year and inspiring a wave of copycat products. KFC, meanwhile, holds roughly a 65% market share in the UK fried chicken market, operating more than 1,000 branches across the country.
The collaboration also marks the return of La Vieille Ferme's exclusive 'Chicken Wine' label, created specifically for the event. Phoebe Syms, fame and partnerships lead at KFC UK and Ireland, said: 'We're iconic fried chicken. They're the iconic Chicken Wine. Coq au Vin is one of those partnerships that just makes sense – and frankly, we can't believe it's taken this long. This August bank holiday, it's poulet all day!'
Menu details and pricing
The Coq au Vin menu pairs each KFC item with a specific La Vieille Ferme wine. Popcorn Chicken is matched with Sparkling Rosé, described as having notes of strawberry, cherry, and lively fizz. Hot Wings are paired with Rouge, featuring juicy red berries and cherries. Original Recipe Tenders come with either Rosé (strawberry, raspberry, nectarine) or Blanc (white peach, hazelnut, melon). Dips include Original Sauce, Supercharger, and Texas BBQ.
Andrew Bayley, Managing Director at Famille Perrin UK, added: 'Bringing the nation's favourites together in a unique juxtaposition is all about celebrating the unexpected. Coq au Vin is a playful take on the principle that great wine and great food don't have to follow the rules…a pop-up collaboration that makes customers cross the road.'
Event logistics and ticket information
The pop-up will run from Friday August 28 to Monday August 31, with hours from 12pm to 9pm on Friday through Sunday, and 12pm to 5pm on Monday. The venue is located at Kachette Annex, 1 Kingsland Road, Shoreditch, London E2 8AA.
Advance booking via Eventbrite is advised, though limited walk-in spaces will be available. Each ticket costs £15 and reserves one seat for a 90-minute time slot, with a maximum of four tickets per customer. The collaboration is expected to draw significant interest given the popularity of both brands.
