Time Out has named Brockwell Park Lido as the best outdoor swimming spot in London for the third heatwave of summer 2026. The south London lido, a long-time favourite, features a 50-metre unheated pool where water temperatures range from 23C to 26C in summer, dropping as low as 6C in winter. Entry costs £8 (£5 concessions) for a 50-minute swim, with ample space for sunbathing and an art deco Grade II-listed café serving brunch.
Parliament Hill Lido and Hampstead Heath Ponds
For those north of the river, Parliament Hill Lido on Hampstead Heath took second place. This unheated pool also includes a paddling pool for children. Hampstead Heath's swimming ponds secured third place, offering three natural pools originally dammed-off clay pits, open to women, men, and mixed groups. Swimmers may encounter ducks and herons sharing the water.
