MyLondon Launches The London Lift: Celebrating Positive Stories from the Capital
MyLondon Launches The London Lift: Positive Stories

MyLondon is proud to announce The London Lift, a new campaign dedicated to bringing you the positive stories that make our great city shine. Every weekend, we will share a story designed to put a skip in your step and remind you of the good in London.

Why The London Lift?

Stories of local heroes and people making a difference are among the things MyLondon loves to cover most. We have a fantastic city, yet if you browse online without knowing London, you might think otherwise. London often faces disproportionate criticism, especially regarding safety concerns. While the city has its problems, it is important to highlight the positive aspects. For instance, 2025 recorded the lowest number of homicides since monthly records began. Next time someone says they are avoiding London, remind them of that fact and point them to MyLondon's The London Lift.

Our Mission

London is home to 9 million people with amazing and uplifting stories, but too often we focus on the negative aspects of life, such as injuries, financial loss, or disputes. We will continue to report on these important issues, but we also love positive news. That is why we have decided to bring you a story every weekend that focuses on the good, the better, and the best that London has to offer.

First Story: A Hero in Croydon

Our first story comes from a conversation with Carl Wilson, owner of Jobsa Gooden Plumbing and Heating. The Croydon father-of-two refused to charge a pensioner for work after learning that a scam artist tradesman had ripped her off for £7,000. This is just one example of the human-led tales we will highlight over the coming months.
