Plot Details: Chaos on a Country Lane

The action unfolds on a treacherous stretch of road between Hotten and Weatherfield, following the dramatic events of Debbie Webster's wedding. In a state of intoxication, Carl Webster takes the wheel with Debbie beside him, hurtling dangerously out of control.

Simultaneously, a minibus full of wedding guests heads toward the same fateful location. Meanwhile, Becky Swain is attempting to flee to Spain with Lisa and Betsy, but a distracting phone call causes her to lose control of her vehicle with devastating results.

The episode promises high-stakes pursuits, with Kit Green and Carla Connor racing to the crash site, and a tense showdown in a moving car between Aaron Dingle and John Sugden as they wrestle for control of a weapon. Robert Sugden and Joe Tate give chase, unaware of the danger ahead.

Even those seeking a peaceful journey are caught up, as Cain and Moira Dingle's trip to Manchester airport with newlyweds Sarah and Jacob is interrupted by Mack and Charity, leading to a shocking off-road collision. The chaos culminates at Hotten General Hospital, where the injured are treated and families mourn, their lives changed forever.

When and How to Watch the Soap Event

Corriedale is a must-see, hour-long episode scheduled for 8pm on Monday, January 5, 2026. It will not be released early on ITVX. It will be preceded by regular half-hour episodes of Emmerdale at 7pm and Coronation Street at 7:30pm, which will be available to stream from 7am that day on YouTube and ITVX.

Iain MacLeod, ITV’s Executive Producer for Continuing Drama, expressed his excitement, stating: "It’s beyond exciting that filming is under way on Corriedale... As a soap fan myself, I think my head is going to explode when the episode airs. It will be mind-blowing, historical and unmissable."

The confirmation of John Sugden's involvement, played by Oliver Farnworth, validates a major fan theory sparked by eagle-eyed viewers who spotted a wanted poster of his character in Weatherfield police station. Farnworth himself told Metro: "Having been in both shows now, I was super excited. It’s just iconic... I knew that with Duncan Foster directing it, it was going to be good."
