EastEnders' notorious bad boy Ravi Gulati is facing mortal danger as the horrific consequences of his criminal actions finally catch up with him in a terrifying New Year plot.
A Descent into the Underworld
Played by actor Aaron Thiara, Ravi's desperate attempt to reclaim the Panesar fortune stolen by Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) led him down a dark path. Ignoring warnings from Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington), he established a vast drug and exploitation network. He dragged vulnerable residents Kojo Asare (Dayo Koleosho) and Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) into his scheme, employing the dangerously volatile Okie Okyere (Aayan Ibikunle Shoderu).
When the operation collapsed after Kojo and Harry escaped, Ravi was arrested. To avoid prison, he struck a deal to become a police informant. The revelation of his drug dealing devastated his family, including partner Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) and his children Avani (Aaliyah James) and Nugget (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury), who were horrified by his actions.
Revenge Brews on the Square
Forced to move out by Suki (Balvinder Sopal) and Eve Panesar-Unwin (Heather Peace), whose adoption plans he jeopardised, Ravi was later abducted and brutally beaten by gangsters. Fearing for his family's safety, he sent Priya and the kids to stay with Suki and Eve.
However, his most immediate threat now comes from a vengeful Harry Mitchell. Harry's life was destroyed by Ravi's operation; he battled a severe addiction after being fed drugs while captive, and his father Teddy Mitchell (Roland Manookian) is in prison after taking the blame for Harry's accidental killing of Okie. Consumed by a thirst for retribution, Harry misinterpreted advice from Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) and decided Ravi must pay.
A Spiked Drink and a Deadly Ambush
After an initial clash, Harry plotted an ambush. Seizing his chance when Ravi's family left for a meeting with adoption assessors, Harry spiked Ravi's drink. A drugged and hallucinating Ravi staggered onto the Square, where Harry lured him towards the Arches garage.
Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) intervened, forcing Harry to flee and leave a rapidly deteriorating Ravi alone in the garage. As Ravi succumbs to the spiked drugs and his hallucinations intensify, his family desperately searches for him, with terrible consequences looming.
The question now haunting Albert Square is whether Harry Mitchell has finally succeeded in enacting the ultimate revenge on the man who ruined his life.
