Coronation Street New Year 2025 Broadcast Times

With the usual TV schedules in disarray, here is your definitive list of when to catch Coronation Street this week. The soap will air at the following times:

  • Monday, December 29: 8pm – 8.30pm
  • Tuesday, December 30: 8pm – 8.30pm

A significant permanent change to the ITV soap schedule begins on Monday, January 5. From that date, Emmerdale will air at 7pm for 30 minutes, followed immediately by Coronation Street at 7.30pm for another 30 minutes. ITV bosses are branding this new line-up a 'soap power hour'.

The Epic 'Corriedale' Crossover Event

This new schedule will be launched in spectacular fashion with the highly anticipated 'Corriedale' crossover. This first-of-its-kind episode for ITV soaps will see characters from Weatherfield and Emmerdale join forces. The special episode is set to air at 8pm on Monday, January 5, immediately following the new regular episodes of both serials.

Explosive New Year Storylines on the Cobbles

Before the crossover, Coronation Street has plenty of its own drama to resolve. Christmas left several characters in perilous situations and seeking vengeance.

The dangerously unhinged Becky Swain (Amy Cudden) has finally captured her rival, Carla Connor (Alison King), holding her gagged and bound. With Carla's failed escape attempt, viewers are left wondering if Becky will seek a permanent solution to her problem.

Meanwhile, Abi Webster (Sally Carman-Duttine) has discovered her partner Carl (Jonathan Howard) has been cheating on her with James Bailey (Jason Callender). Teaming up with the notoriously toxic Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford), Abi is plotting revenge, raising questions about how far she will go.

The Driscoll family fallout continues as Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn) cruelly exposed Eva Price's (Catherine Tyldesley) abortion secret, leading to a violent punch-up between Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) and Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker). Now back in the family fold, Maggie's scheming against her daughter-in-law seems far from over, especially given her new alliance with grandson Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale).

In a darker twist, this alliance was forged after Maggie helped frame a homeless man for Will's vicious attack on Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard). Will's jealousy stems from Daniel's burgeoning relationship with his paedophile coach, Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon), who has been grooming him.

Amid the chaos, there is a wedding on the horizon for Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) and Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan). However, as any soap fan knows, a smooth ceremony is never guaranteed.
