Steven Bartlett Launches Tech News Site, Hiring 10 Journalists
Steven Bartlett's Founded.com tech news site to launch

Entrepreneur and Dragons' Den investor Steven Bartlett is venturing into the media landscape with the creation of a new technology-focused journalism website, Founded.com. The platform, set for an official launch in mid-December 2025, will report on technology companies in both the United Kingdom and the United States.

A New Venture in Tech Journalism

The development was revealed by City AM, which reported that Bartlett's team is actively recruiting for the project. A total of 10 journalists and an editor-in-chief are currently being hired to staff the operation, with teams planned for both sides of the Atlantic. It is understood that Bartlett, despite being the founder, will not exert editorial influence over the new publication's direction.

The website had been publicly accessible for a period, featuring articles about various tech firms, including some covering Bartlett's own business activities. However, following contact from City AM for comment, the site was taken offline and is now scheduled to reappear with its formal launch later in December.

Bartlett's Business Moves and Funding

This media initiative follows significant financial developments for Bartlett. In October 2025, his umbrella company, Steven.com, which consolidates his media, investment, and creator-tech ventures, secured an eight-figure funding round. This investment valued the firm at a substantial £320 million.

Bartlett retains approximately 90 per cent of the shares in Steven.com, with other backers including Slow Ventures and Apeiron Investment Group. Notably, this new venture is incorporated in the US, marking a shift in his corporate structure.

Resignations and Strategic Shifts

Prior to this funding announcement, City AM reported that the Diary of a CEO podcast host had resigned as a director from its UK-based parent company, Flight Story. He no longer holds any directorships listed on the UK's Companies House.

This follows another resignation earlier in February 2025, when Bartlett stepped down from his director role at nutrition brand Huel, a company he has long invested in. A Huel spokesperson cited his relocation to Los Angeles and numerous business commitments as reasons, confirming he remains an investor.

The launch of Founded.com signifies Steven Bartlett's continued expansion from podcasting and investing into the core arena of news journalism, aiming to carve out a dedicated space for coverage of the UK and US technology sectors.
