Staff at the UK headquarters of tech behemoth Nvidia have collectively benefited from a staggering £44.7 million share-based award, fuelled by the company's meteoric stock performance and an upgraded employee share scheme.
A Lucrative Reward for UK Employees
Newly filed accounts with Companies House reveal the substantial payout for the financial year ending 26 January 2025. This represents a significant jump from the £33.3 million awarded to staff in the previous year. The windfall is linked to a long-running share save scheme that allows employees to purchase Nvidia stock at an 85 per cent discount.
In a move that amplifies the potential gains for its workforce, Nvidia increased the maximum amount of earnings employees can withhold for the scheme from 15 per cent to 25 per cent, effective from March 2025.
Strong Financial Performance for the UK Arm
The financial documents also paint a picture of robust growth for Nvidia's London-based division. The average number of people employed by Nvidia UK rose from 325 to 364. The company's turnover saw a powerful surge, climbing from £137.5 million to £183 million.
Pre-tax profit for the UK arm also grew healthily, increasing from £39.7 million to £47.8 million. Notably, the division did not pay a dividend to its US parent company this year, unlike the prior 12 months when it paid out £160.7 million.
Global Dominance and AI-Driven Profits
The UK results were published alongside another set of blockbuster quarterly figures for the wider Nvidia group. For the three months to 26 October 2025, the chipmaker's global revenue skyrocketed by 62 per cent to $57 billion (£43.6bn).
Profit followed suit, surging 65 per cent to $31.9 billion (£24.4bn) compared to the same period in 2024. This performance was once again driven by the company's data-centre division, the engine of global AI infrastructure investment, where revenue jumped 66 per cent to $51.2 billion.
Globally, Nvidia reported awarding £3.6 billion in stock-based compensation to its employees. This aligns with the company's soaring stock value, which increased by more than 95 per cent in the year to January 2025, with shares now trading at around $190.
The report on Nvidia's generous staff packages comes hot on the heels of news that AI firm Anthropic is also offering substantial financial packages to its UK employees, highlighting the intense competition for top talent in Britain's burgeoning artificial intelligence sector.
