Anthony Durkan, 36, of Islington, North London, has admitted to a series of voyeurism offences after filming women through the windows of their homes at night. He pleaded guilty to 19 charges of voyeurism at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, bringing the total number of offences to 26 following earlier guilty pleas to seven charges on March 26.
Details of the Offences
The offences occurred between January 2020 and March 2026, with all but one taking place last year. Prosecutor Edward Kalber told the court that Durkan "poses a real risk to women and girls in our communities" and that he was "filming them in their private residences in various states of undress."
The Metropolitan Police discovered a hidden gallery on Durkan's mobile phone containing hundreds of images and videos of women. There is no evidence that any of the women were aware they were being recorded.
Arrest and Investigation
Durkan was arrested on March 25 after a plainclothes officer observed him approaching an address and filming through a window. The arrest followed reports from two women in Islington. In January 2026, a woman reported that an unknown man repeatedly attended her home in the early hours, filmed through her windows, and was captured on a neighbour's doorbell camera wearing all black and a balaclava. In March, another woman confronted a man recording her through her window, who fled; the incident was captured on security camera.
A search of Durkan's home led to the seizure of five additional mobile devices and a small camera for further examination.
Police Appeal for Victims
Detectives are working to identify additional victims and have appealed to women in North London who may have noticed unusual activity around their home, especially late at night or in the early hours, between January 2020 and March 2026. Detective Chief Inspector Gemma Alger said: "Durkan's offending represented a serious and sustained course of predatory behaviour, deliberately targeting women who were entirely unaware they were being filmed, without their consent and in the privacy of their own homes."
A Met Police spokesperson added: "Examination of Durkan's seized devices uncovered extensive evidence of further voyeurism offences, prompting detectives to review historic crime reports where no suspect had been identified."
Court Outcome
Wearing a white jacket and jeans, Durkan entered his guilty pleas on Tuesday afternoon. He was released on conditional bail and will be sentenced at a date to be determined at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
