Share Your Best European Travel Discovery and Win £200
The Guardian Travel section has launched an exciting competition inviting UK residents to share their favourite European travel discoveries from 2025. The best tip will receive a £200 voucher towards a break with Coolstays, which offers more than 3,000 properties worldwide.
What Makes a Winning Travel Tip?
As we approach the end of the year, the competition encourages travellers to reflect on their most memorable finds across Europe and the UK. Judges are seeking unusual discoveries that might include hidden seaside resorts, exceptional galleries or museums, unforgettable restaurants, wonderful hiking routes, or unexpectedly vibrant nightlife in small towns.
Tom Hall of Lonely Planet will personally select the winning entry each week. The most compelling tips will be featured in the Guardian Travel section and on their website, giving successful contributors valuable exposure.
Competition Rules and Entry Details
Entries must be approximately 100 words, and while participants may submit relevant photographs, the judging will focus entirely on the written content. For legal reasons, only UK residents aged 18 or over are eligible to enter.
The competition closes on Monday 24 November at 10am GMT. Entries can be submitted anonymously if preferred, and all responses are securely encrypted with only the Guardian having access to contributions.
