Uber Rider Rankings: Bristol and London Score Lowest in UK
Uber reveals UK cities with best and worst rider ratings

New data from Uber has revealed significant differences in passenger behaviour across UK cities, with Bristol and London emerging as having the least polite riders in the country.

The UK's Best and Worst Rated Uber Passengers

The ride-hailing service, which operates a mutual rating system where both drivers and passengers score each other out of five after every journey, has published its latest figures. Bristol claims the unfortunate title of the UK's lowest-rated city for passenger behaviour, with an average rider score of just 4.73 out of 5.

London doesn't fare much better, securing the second-lowest position nationwide with an average passenger rating of 4.75. This places both cities significantly below the national average rider rating of 4.84.

Northern Ireland Leads in Passenger Etiquette

At the opposite end of the spectrum, Belfast boasts the UK's highest average passenger rating at an impressive 4.91. The Northern Irish capital is closely followed by the university cities of Cambridge (4.89) and Oxford (4.88), which tied for third place with Merseyside.

Cardiff completes the top five best-rated locations with a respectable average passenger score of 4.86.

How to Improve Your Uber Rating

Uber emphasised that even high-performing cities have room for improvement in rider etiquette. The company provided clear guidance for passengers looking to boost their scores, recommending they avoid common complaints from drivers.

Key actions to avoid include being disrespectful to drivers, arriving late for pickups, eating in the vehicle, and changing the destination mid-journey. A passenger's overall rating is calculated based on their most recent 500 trips.

Andrew Brem, General Manager for Uber UK, commented on the findings: "Every day, thousands of incredible drivers go the extra mile to make trips safe, friendly and enjoyable. The Uber community is built on mutual respect, and we hope this serves as a reminder to keep those positive connections going."
