TUI launches new direct flights to Greek island Kos

British holiday company TUI has announced the launch of three exciting new direct flight routes to the Greek island of Kos, where autumn temperatures are currently reaching a pleasant 24 degrees Celsius.

New Routes Connect South England to Mediterranean Sunshine

For the first time ever, TUI will operate direct flights to Kos from both Bournemouth and Exeter airports, while also reinstating the popular London Stansted route that last operated in 2019. This strategic expansion makes it significantly easier for travellers across Southern England to access this Mediterranean gem without the hassle of connecting flights.

The new services will operate twice weekly from London Stansted on Mondays and Thursdays, providing regular opportunities for Londoners to escape to warmer climates. Neil Swanson, managing director at TUI UK and Ireland, commented on the development: "These new routes to Kos follow a rise in demand for this picturesque island, which is one of our customers' favourite Greek destinations."

Why Kos Makes the Perfect Getaway

Kos offers visitors an ideal blend of golden beaches, ancient historical sites, and charming harbour towns. The island is particularly famous for its cycling-friendly infrastructure, earning it the nickname 'cycling island' with numerous dedicated routes crisscrossing the 30-mile landmass.

History enthusiasts can explore landmarks including the Asklepieion sanctuary, the Roman Odeon, and the medieval Neratzia Castle. For breathtaking sunset views, the mountain village of Zia provides spectacular vantage points over the island's rolling hills.

During summer months, temperatures typically reach a warm 27°C, while current November conditions remain mild at 24°C. The destination also proves budget-friendly for British travellers, with average prices reported at approximately £3.50 for a pint and just £2.60 for an ice cream.
