Central London's Biggest Food Hall Opening in December

Central London is set to welcome its most ambitious culinary destination yet this winter, as the popular Market Place food hall chain prepares to open its largest venue in the heart of the West End.

A New Flagship for London's Food Scene

Market Place Leicester Square will officially launch on Wednesday, 10 December, marking a significant expansion for the brand. The five-storey establishment will be situated directly next to the area's legendary Odeon Cinema, creating a new entertainment hub.

The scale of the new venture is substantial, promising a diverse offering designed to cater to every taste. The food hall will host an impressive 16 different food vendors alongside three dedicated bars. Beyond eating and drinking, the venue will feature a terrace with a balcony, a private hire space, and a packed schedule of events including comedy nights, live sports screenings, and DJ sets.

More Than Just a Meal

A spokesman for the brand emphasised the all-inclusive nature of the project, describing it as a "vibrant, all-inclusive destination in the heart of the West End." The venue is designed to be family-friendly and dog-friendly, positioning itself as a space for both Londoners and visitors to gather.

Blake Henderson, Managing Director at Market Place Food Halls, reflected on the company's rapid growth, stating, "We started Market Place with one neighbourhood site in Peckham and in a few short years it has grown across the city. Leicester Square is the biggest leap forward yet." He added that this flagship location embodies everything the brand stands for: "Incredible food, great drinks, live entertainment and a space where Londoners and visitors can celebrate together."

Elevating the London Food Hall Experience

While the specific vendors for the Leicester Square location are yet to be announced, the brand's current largest site in Vauxhall offers a glimpse of the culinary diversity to expect. That venue features 11 stalls serving a global range of dishes from Pad Thai and birria tacos to substantial burgers.

The new Leicester Square site represents a clear escalation, with five floors of food, drink, and entertainment set to establish a new benchmark for food halls in the capital. This opening solidifies Market Place's position as a major player in London's casual dining and nightlife landscape.

With its prime location and extensive offering, Market Place Leicester Square is poised to become a major new attraction in the West End, providing a one-stop destination for food, drink, and entertainment throughout the day and night.
