Argentinian Empanadas Restaurant Opens in Kew

South London Welcomes a Taste of Argentina

This November, a delicious new arrival is set to enhance the culinary landscape of Kew in South London. De Nadas, celebrated as the UK's pioneering empanadería, will throw open its doors to the public, marking a significant expansion for the popular food brand.

The new eatery will be situated at 16 Station Parade, Kew, Surrey, TW9 3PZ, taking over the premises previously occupied by Pether Butcher, conveniently located next to Kew Gardens Tube station. This strategic spot is expected to attract both local residents and dedicated food enthusiasts.

A Menu Packed with Authentic Flavours

At the heart of De Nadas' offering are its empanadas, which are all handmade and baked, not fried. The menu boasts an impressive 15 different varieties, ensuring there is a perfect pastry for every taste.

Patrons can choose from classic fillings like beef, chorizo, and spicy lamb, or venture towards more inventive combinations such as blue cheese and pear, malbec onions with smoked cheddar, a Caprese option, and a vegan-friendly squash and kale empanada. They are available to purchase individually, or in bundles of three, six, or twelve, with bulk orders also catered for events.

More Than Just Empanadas

The Kew branch offers a broader Argentinian gourmet experience. Beyond the signature pastries, visitors can purchase Argentinian beef and criollo sausages to cook at home, alongside a selection of coffee, vermouth, South American wines, and classic treats like alfajores and dulce de leche.

Essential condiments such as chimichurri and yerba mate will also be available. Wine enthusiasts have a particular treat in store, with the shop planning to host regular tastings featuring top producers from Argentina, including the renowned Zuccardi.

Families are well looked after with dedicated Kid’s Meals that include an empanada, juice, and ice cream, complemented by free self-serve popcorn, known locally in Argentina as pochoclo. For those seeking a quick, satisfying lunch from Monday to Friday, the shop will offer a Lunch Box featuring three empanadas paired with a fresh salad.

Founded in 2022 by Nako Martinez, Nico Buyo, and Annabel Fox, De Nadas began its journey on Golborne Road in Notting Hill. It has since successfully expanded to locations in Shoreditch, Stoke Newington, and Bethnal Green, where all the empanadas are produced. The Kew branch will officially become the fifth London location for the burgeoning brand this month.
