London's appetite for exceptional pizza shows no signs of slowing, and one of the capital's most celebrated pizzerias is set to satisfy more cravings with a major expansion. Alley Cats, the viral New York-inspired pizza brand, has confirmed it will open its fourth London restaurant in the heart of west London early next year.
A Rapid Rise to Pizza Prominence
Since bursting onto the scene in 2024 with its debut location in Marylebone, Alley Cats has enjoyed a meteoric rise. It quickly followed up with a second site in Chelsea, and launched a third on Westbourne Grove in Notting Hill this past summer. The brand's latest venture will see it take over a prime spot at 233 Portobello Road, with an opening scheduled for February 2026.
Inside the New Portobello Road Pizzeria
The new establishment promises a dynamic two-floor dining experience designed to cater to all pizza needs. The ground floor will feature a convenient 'slice hatch' serving up giant 18-inch slices for those on the go. Upstairs, guests will find full-service seating alongside a hidden outdoor terrace, offering a more relaxed environment to enjoy a full pie.
The menu will showcase all the fan favourites from existing locations, including their renowned 14-inch pizzas, Philly cheesesteak subs, and deep-fried carbonara bites. The Portobello Road launch will also see the debut of a new offering: the Fat Cat Squares, a thick and crusty Sicilian-style square pizza.
Signature Pizzas and Critical Acclaim
Patrons can expect a mouth-watering selection of toppings. Standouts include a vodka sauce pie with aged buffalo mozzarella, a pepperoni number jazzed up with jalapeños and honey, and white base options such as wild mushroom with taleggio cheese, red onion jam, and fried sage.
The quality has already won over critics. Time Out London's editor, Joe Mackertich, sampled the creamy vodka sauce pizza at the Marylebone branch last year, praising it as 'every bit as moreish and comforting as the dish that inspired it'.
While Londoners await the exact opening date next February, the city's pizza lovers have plenty of other top-tier options to explore in the meantime. This new opening further cements Alley Cats' reputation as a major player in the capital's fiercely competitive and ever-growing pizza landscape.
