100,000 Free Pints for Bank Holiday: Just Say 'I'm Home' at Greene King
100,000 Free Pints at Greene King on Bank Holiday

Nothing says bank holiday weekend quite like toasting a pint – or two – with your mates. And while the cost of a round can rack up to an eye-watering amount these days (RIP to the sub-£6 London beer), the good news is that, on Monday, May 4, Greene King is giving away 100,000 pints for free. The initiative is part of the pub chain’s Home At Your Local campaign, which is encouraging Brits to treat their nearest pub just as they would their humble abode. Second home, anyone?

Interested in claiming your rightful pint? You’ll just need a two-word password – and it’s as simple as ‘I’m home.’ Simply utter this to your bartender at any participating Greene King pub on Monday, and you’ll be met with a tasty drink of your choosing. You’ll just need to make sure you’re there between the hours of 11am and 11pm. Various lagers, ales, and soft drinks are included in the deal, as well as big names including Greene King’s Level Head and the Greene King IPA.

Which Greene King Pubs Are Participating?

Feeling thirsty? A list of the participating Greene King pubs can be found online. However, there’s one notable pub in the capital excluded from the offer, and that’s at the Fig Tree in Uxbridge. Sorry, West Londoners. The promotion also won’t be available in the following Greene King-owned brands: Chef & Brewer Collection, Farmhouse Inns, Farmhouse Kitchen, Flaming Grill, Hungry Horse, Metropolitan Pub Company, and Crafted Pubs.

Andrew Gallagher, brand and marketing director at Greene King pubs, said: ‘Pubs have always been at the heart of British culture and a place where communities gather and create lasting memories with loved ones. There’s nothing quite like that “at-home” feeling when you step into your local, and this campaign is all about celebrating warm, welcoming spaces for everyone. What better way to enjoy your home from home than with a free pint?’

To coincide with the campaign, new research from Greene King has found that two in five (41%) of Brits admit they’d pay up to 20% more for either their rent or mortgage just to live near a really strong local pub. And it’s true: scouting out the nearest watering holes after a house viewing is always a good idea, not only to dissect whether you want to sign for it, but also to get a glimpse of their vibe. There’s nothing like a strong tap line-up, that’s for certain.

The party doesn’t end on Monday, either. To coincide with the offer, Greene King is also launching the Second Home scheme. All you need to do is tell Greene King which pub you’d make your second home if you could, and you could be one of 50 pub-goers winning a year’s worth of free beer. Shall we see you at the bar?
