UniCredit has bolstered its UK team with the appointments of Javed Khan and Paolo Tusa, according to a source familiar with the matter. The hires underscore the Italian bank's commitment to expanding its presence in London.
New Appointments
Javed Khan joins from Barclays, where he served as a managing director in the financial institutions group. Paolo Tusa arrives from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he was also a managing director focusing on financial sponsors. Both will report to Olivier Khayat, UniCredit's head of corporate and investment banking for the UK.
Strategic Expansion
The hires come as UniCredit seeks to strengthen its advisory capabilities in the UK market. The bank has been actively recruiting to build out its team in London, a key financial hub. According to the source, the new additions are expected to enhance UniCredit's ability to serve clients in the financial institutions and sponsor sectors.
UniCredit has not publicly disclosed the specific mandates or targets for the new hires, but the move aligns with broader efforts to grow its investment banking franchise outside of its home market in Italy.
