Stifel Financial has appointed Stephen Masters, a former dealmaker at Lincoln International, to head its consumer investment banking unit, a person familiar with the matter said.
New Leadership for Consumer Banking
Masters joins Stifel as managing director and will lead the firm's consumer investment banking practice, the source said. He previously spent over a decade at Lincoln International, where he was a managing director focused on consumer and retail deals. During his tenure, he advised on mergers, acquisitions, and financings for companies in sectors including food, beverage, and household goods.
Stifel's consumer team has been active in recent months, advising on deals such as the sale of frozen food maker Perfect Starch to a private equity firm. The hire comes as Stifel seeks to expand its middle-market investment banking presence.
Strategic Expansion
The appointment underscores Stifel's strategy to strengthen its sector coverage and capture more advisory mandates in the consumer space. A Stifel spokesperson declined to comment on the hire. Masters could not be reached for comment.
