Three London Underground lines will be partially shut this weekend as Transport for London (TfL) carries out essential track work. The District, Metropolitan, and Piccadilly lines will not call at all stations across Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12. Holidaymakers heading to Heathrow Airport are advised to use the Elizabeth line instead, as the Piccadilly line will not run beyond Hammersmith.
District line closures
On Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12, there will be no service on the District line between Turnham Green and Ealing Broadway due to track work. Passengers traveling in West London should seek alternative routes.
Piccadilly line disruption
The Piccadilly line will have no service from Hammersmith to Heathrow Airport and Uxbridge on both days, including during Friday and Saturday Night Tube services. TfL encourages passengers traveling between Central London and Heathrow to use the Elizabeth line, which will operate normally except for early morning maintenance on Sunday.
Metropolitan line changes
The Metropolitan line will not run from Harrow-on-the-Hill to Uxbridge on Saturday and Sunday due to track work. Commuters in Northwest London should plan alternative journeys.
Other TfL services affected
London Overground's Windrush line will have no service between Wandsworth Road and Clapham Junction until 9am on Sunday, July 12, due to Network Rail maintenance. Trains will run to and from Battersea Park after Wandsworth Road. Tickets are being accepted on local bus routes and Southern Railway services between Battersea Park and Clapham Junction.
The Docklands Light Railway (DLR) will have no service between Tower Gateway and Shadwell on Sunday due to third-party works.
The Elizabeth line will not stop at Acton Main Line, Hanwell, and West Ealing after 11pm on Saturday and until 9am on Sunday due to Network Rail maintenance work.
Disruption at Euston station
London Northwestern Railway (LNR) has warned of severe disruption at Euston station on Friday, July 10 and Saturday, July 11 due to strike action by the TSSA trade union over a pay dispute. Services will be reduced, with some routes having no service at all. On Friday, no LNR services will run after 7pm, with final departures at 5:30pm. On Saturday, services resume at 7am but remain limited to one train per hour on routes including Birmingham–Liverpool, London Euston–Crewe, Birmingham–London Euston via Northampton, Milton Keynes–London Euston, and Watford Junction–St Albans Abbey. No trains will run on other routes, including Stafford–Crewe via Stoke-on-Trent and Bedford–Bletchley. Some disruption is expected on Sunday as services return to normal.
