Circle Line Suspended: Person on Tracks Halts London Tube Services
Circle Line suspended after casualty on tracks

Major Disruption on the London Underground

Commuters faced severe disruption this morning after Transport for London (TfL) suspended the entire Circle line due to a casualty on the tracks. The incident, which occurred at approximately 9.30am on Monday, November 24, brought all trains on the route to a standstill in both directions.

Service Suspensions and Alternative Travel

The suspension has had a knock-on effect on other parts of the network. There is also no service on the District line between Earl's Court and Embankment for eastbound journeys only. TfL is urging passengers to use the following alternative transport options, with tickets being accepted at no extra cost:

  • Local bus services
  • South Western Railway
  • c2c services
  • London Overground (Mildmay line)
  • DLR (Docklands Light Railway)

Emergency crews, including the British Transport Police and London Ambulance Service, were swiftly called to the scene, though the specific station where the incident occurred remains unclear.

Further Travel Chaos on the Elizabeth Line

In a separate incident adding to the morning's travel woes, a signal fault at Whitechapel has caused significant problems on the Elizabeth line. This has resulted in cancelled trains between Whitechapel and Stratford, creating further chaos for London's commuters.

Transport for London has confirmed that investigations into both incidents are ongoing and has apologised for the considerable disruption to passengers' journeys.
