Police have launched a public appeal to identify a man wanted for questioning after a shocking assault on two young children at a busy London Underground station.
Appeal for information following station attack
The incident took place at White City Underground station in West London at approximately 4pm on Thursday, December 11. According to British Transport Police (BTP), a woman was at the station with her two young children when an unknown man approached and kicked both children, causing them to fall to the ground.
The assailant did not engage with the family further and immediately walked away into the station. He was seen boarding an eastbound Central Line train, making his escape from the scene.
Mother left 'incredibly shaken' by ordeal
Fortunately, neither child sustained any physical injuries from the attack. However, BTP confirmed the children were left "understandably upset" by their ordeal. Their mother was described as being "incredibly shaken" by the sudden and unprovoked assault on her family.
Investigators have released a CCTV image of a man they believe may have vital information that could assist the ongoing enquiry. Officers are urging the public to come forward if they recognise the individual.
