A person has died following an emergency incident at a railway station in Bromley. Police and paramedics were dispatched to Eden Park station shortly before midnight on May 27 after receiving reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Incident Details
The British Transport Police (BTP) stated that the injured individual was pronounced dead at the scene. The age and gender of the deceased have not yet been released to the public. Authorities have confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious. A file will be prepared for the coroner ahead of an inquest.
Service Disruptions
The incident caused significant disruption to train services. A Southeastern service bound for Lewisham was terminated at the South London station as police cordoned off the area. No further trains operated via Eden Park for the remainder of the night. Passengers were advised to use local bus services and replacement buses until the morning. Train services have since resumed normal operation.
This tragic event occurred just hours after a separate fatal incident on the Tube tracks at West Brompton station.
