Person dies after falling on Tube tracks at West Brompton

A person has died after falling on the Tube tracks in West London this afternoon (May 27). Emergency services attended West Brompton station at around 12pm following reports of a casualty.

The injured person died at the scene, the British Transport Police (BTP) said in a statement. Their age and gender have not been made public. The incident is not being treated as suspicious, the force added.

District line travel was suspended between Earl's Court and Wimbledon as officers sealed off the busy interchange. While service has resumed, trains continue to run with severe delays between these nine stops. Tickets are currently being accepted on local bus routes and South Western Railway services.

A BTP spokesperson said: "Officers were called at around 12pm today (27 May) to reports of a casualty on the tracks at West Brompton Underground station. Officers responded with paramedics, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious."
