Ocado has secured a deal with Asda to take over all home deliveries starting next year, the companies announced on Friday. From early 2027, Ocado will manage Asda's delivery operations, working from both traditional stores and so-called 'dark stores' – warehouses dedicated to online order fulfillment.
Expanded Shopping Options
Shoppers will be able to purchase Asda products through Ocado's web shop and also make click-and-collect orders. Additionally, Asda will leverage Ocado's platform to handle deliveries placed via third-party apps such as Uber Eats, Deliveroo, and Just Eat.
Strategic Move
This partnership marks a significant shift in the UK grocery delivery landscape, combining Ocado's advanced logistics technology with Asda's extensive product range. The deal is expected to enhance efficiency and expand reach for both companies.
