This weekend, the 2026 FIFA World Cup is in full swing, and while Thomas Tuchel's England team doesn't start until next week, there are plenty of matches to watch at screenings across London. Besides football, the city offers events like Harry Styles' Meltdown festival and an optical illusions exhibition at Somerset House. However, if you plan to use public transport, be aware of major travel disruptions. Several important tube lines, including the Piccadilly, Circle, District, Metropolitan, and Hammersmith & City lines, will be affected by closures. London Travel Disruption and Tube Closures: June 13-14, 2026

District Line

  • On Saturday, June 13: No service on the entire line until 10:30am.
  • On Saturday, June 13: No trains between Embankment/Edgware Road and Ealing Broadway/Kensington Olympia/Richmond/Wimbledon.
  • On Saturday, June 13 (from 2pm) and Sunday, June 14 (all day): No trains between Barons Court and Stamford Brook, no trains between Earls Court and Kensington (Olympia), and no trains between Fulham Broadway and Wimbledon.

Circle Line

  • On Saturday, June 13: No service on the entire line until 10:30am.
  • From 10:30am to 2pm: No trains between Edgware Road and Tower Hill.

Hammersmith and City Line

  • On Saturday, June 13: No service on the entire line until 10:30am.

Metropolitan Line

  • On Saturday, June 13: No trains between Aldgate and Harrow-on-the-Hill until 10:30am.

Piccadilly Line

  • On Saturday, June 13: No service on the entire line between 1:45am and 4:45am.
  • Then no trains between Hyde Park Corner and Acton Town from 4:45am to 2pm.

DLR

  • On Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14: No service between Poplar and Beckton.

Waterloo and City Line

  • Closed on weekends and bank holidays (but for how much longer?).
