London Overground Shutdown: Entire Lioness Line Closed This Weekend
London Overground Lioness Line closed this weekend

Transport for London (TfL) has issued a significant travel warning for the upcoming weekend, announcing a full shutdown of an entire London Overground line to facilitate essential National Rail improvement works.

Major Line Closure Details

The complete closure affects the Lioness line, which runs between Euston and Watford Junction. This suspension will be in effect throughout the entire day on both Saturday, November 29 and Sunday, November 30.

To mitigate the impact on passengers, TfL has confirmed that extra rail replacement buses will operate along the 718 and 720 routes. Travellers are strongly advised to use these bus services or seek alternative Tube journeys to complete their trips.

Widespread Network Disruption

The Overground closure is part of a larger series of disruptions affecting London's transport network this weekend. The Docklands Light Railway (DLR) will also see substantial closures, with no service between Bank and Lewisham, Tower Gateway and Canning Town, and Canary Wharf and Stratford.

Furthermore, TfL has indicated that several Tube lines will experience planned engineering works leading to service alterations. Passengers should expect disruption on the Bakerloo, Northern, Elizabeth, and Windrush lines.

Full Weekend Travel Summary
