Scotland Yard reported that officers were called at 7:29 a.m. on Wednesday to reports of people falling from a height in Elephant and Castle, south London. A man, a woman, and a child died at the scene after falling from a high-rise block of flats, according to the Metropolitan Police.
Emergency services attempted to resuscitate the three individuals, but they were pronounced dead at the scene. The police are treating the deaths as “unexpected.”
A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service stated: “We dispatched multiple resources, including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast-response car, an incident response officer, and paramedics from our hazardous area response team. A trauma team from London’s air ambulance also attended. Our first paramedic arrived within approximately four minutes. Very sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, three people were pronounced dead at the scene.”
