Pictures show the aftermath of a bus crash in Notting Hill that damaged a terraced house and two cars. On Thursday evening (July 2), a single-decker bus veered onto the pavement on St Quintin Avenue and collided with a residential property. Emergency services arrived shortly after 7.10pm and confirmed no injuries. No arrests have been made, and the Metropolitan Police is appealing for witnesses.
Road closure and diversions
St Quintin Avenue remains closed westbound, with emergency tape surrounding the bus and damaged house. Two bus routes, the 7 and 70, are diverted during the closure.
Emergency response
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: "Firefighters were called to a road traffic collision on Quintin Avenue in Notting Hill yesterday. Crews made the scene safe after a bus collided with street furniture and a terraced house. Two cars were also damaged in the collision. The Brigade was called at 7.12pm and the incident was over for firefighters by 8.03pm. Two fire engines from North Kensington and Hammersmith fire stations and two fire rescue units from Chelsea and Croydon fire stations attended the scene."
Police statement
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "On Thursday, July 2 at 7.02pm police were called to reports of a collision between a bus and a residential building on St Quintin Avenue, Notting Hill. Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade. No injuries were reported, no arrests have been made, and no criminal offences have been identified. Anyone with information that may assist police is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 7570/2July."
Impact and investigation
The crash caused significant damage to the front of the house and two parked cars. Police are investigating the cause and urge anyone with information to come forward. The road closure is expected to remain in place until further notice.
