The incident occurred yesterday, Wednesday, May 13, leaving dozens of cars steeped in floodwater, with some vehicles halfway submerged.

Details of the Flooding

Footage from the scene showed contractors on site as water levels rose, submerging many cars. The car park is believed to be located off the Eastern Perimeter Road, near a hotel. A social media post accompanying the video read, 'Hope you're not on holiday and parked up at Heathrow,' and attracted numerous responses.

Public Reaction

One commenter wrote, 'Anyone who parks at Heathrow car parks needs their head testing, use public transport!' Another added, 'This exact same car park did the exact same thing last year, would have thought the company would have learned a lesson.'

Official Statement

A Heathrow spokesperson stated: 'Yesterday morning, a localised water issue affected a third-party parking provider. The issue has since been resolved. We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused and advise that passengers who believe their vehicle may have been affected should contact their parking operator and, if necessary, their motor insurer.'

The airport has urged affected drivers to take appropriate action with their insurance providers.
