An eight-year-old child is among three people taken to hospital after a car struck pedestrians and crashed into a motorway service station on the M4 in South Wales. The incident occurred at approximately 11:45 AM today at Cardiff Gate services, located near junction 30 of the M4.

According to South Wales Police, a car collided with a retail premises on the site. The driver, a 76-year-old woman, along with two pedestrians—an eight-year-old child and a 39-year-old man—were all transported to hospital for medical treatment. Authorities have confirmed that none of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.
Witness Account
A witness told WalesOnline that a black BMW struck people who were sitting at a table before crashing into the main service station building. The witness described the scene as 'awful' and noted that approximately 15 people attempted to lift the car off the victims. They speculated that the driver may have suffered a medical emergency, as they could not understand why the vehicle entered the building at such speed.
Emergency services responded promptly, and the area was cordoned off while investigations began. South Wales Police have launched an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
