Connolly's maiden ton leads Australia chase

Cooper Connolly came of age with his maiden international ton, smashing 149 off 133 balls to guide Australia to a nail-biting victory. Despite cramps, the young West Australian hit 13 fours and six sixes, more than doubling his previous best ODI score of 61 not out.

Australia cruised at 5 for 266, but suffered a late collapse of 4 for 5, with Connolly playing on to a slower ball from Mustafizur Rahman. At 9 for 271, Adam Zampa drove Taskin Ahmed through the covers for four to seal the win with three deliveries remaining.

Shoriful's six-wicket haul not enough

Recalled left-arm seamer Shoriful Islam took 6 for 48, including a hat-trick chance, but Tanzid Hasan dropped Zampa at wide slip. Shoriful dismissed Josh Inglis (21), Matt Renshaw (0), Alex Carey (8), Oliver Peake (27), Xavier Bartlett (0), and Ben Dwarshuis (4).

Earlier, Bangladesh posted 5 for 274, led by half-centuries from Towhid Hridoy (83), Litton Das (58 not out), and Mosaddek Hossain (56 not out). Australia's bowlers struck early, with Xavier Bartlett (2 for 47) and Matt Renshaw (2 for 44) reducing the Tigers to 3 for 61.
